"When Darkness Falls" Exhibition at Front Street Gallery, October 12- November 17, 2018

I will be showing my photograph, "St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City"in a group exhibition entitled "When Darkness Falls" at Front Street Gallery in Patterson, NY from October 12-November 17, 2018. From "When Darkness Falls" curator: "There are different kinds of darkness. There is the darkness behind your eyes. The darkness of the coming night. There is darkness that frightens. There are blessings in darkness--without it, one could not see the stars. Darkness can be soothing, when the sky tones down its colors and the sky seems to expand.

"There is darkness inside all of us, in our thoughts, in our actions or our words. What is it about darkness that scares us? Or that helps us grow when we experience a hurtful event in the depth of our soul? What is it that makes us feel restful or restless when we enter sleep? We all have a part of our soul damaged by the trials of dark experiences. We are what we are because of it.

"Is the darkness inside unconscious?  How do we understand darkness?  Something solid and real, so much more than a simple absence of light.  Or is it a creature that touches your skin, slipping into your breath to hide unseen, gliding through our thoughts like an unwelcome passenger."
It's always night, or we wouldn't need light.
-- Thelonious Monk
